been a long time

I know that it has been a long time since i have updated our page, but better late than never!!!! It has been a long year for ALL of us. Trystan finally finished his last chemo the 2nd week of march and we are trying to return to a somewhat normal life. It is Spring Break and myself, Keegan, and Trystan flew to Nevada last Wednesday to visit with Brannon. We are still here having a great time re-united with each other. It brings tears of joy to my eyes to watch them wrestle, pick at each other, or even argue!!!lol I never knew how hard it would be as a mother to accept the fact when one of your children is "grown and gone". i miss having my boys with me 24/7 but i am thankful that brannon has turned out as responsible and smart as he has. We will be flying back home on wednesday where we will be getting ready to start school again....for trystan-----it has been a whole year since he attended and i am just as nervous as he is about returning. he wanted to wait until his hair grew back, but we discussed it and decided that sooner is better. i have to say that it will be difficult not having him around the house for those 8 or so hours a day, as we have not been away from each other for very long during the past year. Keegan is taking karate after school everyday and has been for about 4 months now. he has lost 4 stripes so far and is learning a lot. he is also playing soccer again this season, and folks, just let me say, he is pretty darn good at it...we're talking professional one day maybe!!!! baseball sign-ups and practice have started and it is difficult for trystan because he believes he will never be able to play again. i believe that with more physical therapy and faith, one day he will be able to play again. i hope so, because that is truly Trystan's sport. We are planning a trip to florida in june and plan to stay for about a month so that the boys can visit their grandparents and family. i am gonna stay on the beach the whole time due to the fact that i will be returning to work after summer break, i need a vacation, and i am just not ready to let trystan go that far away from me for that length of time. Overprotective???? Nah, you CAN'T know until you've been in my shoes and i don't wish that on my worst enemy. Trystan has his first set of tests, scans, MRI, etc. when we return to make sure everything is GONE, and after that if all goes well then he will be able to have his port removed. He is really excited about getting that thing out. Anyway...... just wanted to catch up. i'll let you know how returning to school goes and test results!!!!!

Rashel,
You can't begin to know how good it makes me feel to hear how well you are all doing. I am so glad you were all able to spend time with Brannon and that Trystan is on the mend. Wish I could see Keegan play soccer. Joaquin is really drawn to this sport in particular although he seems to love them all. I hope you all have a wonderful time in Florida...you all deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!! Be careful coming home. Please update soon once Trystan starts back to school and finishes all of his testing. You are all in my prayers!
